One of the main policies adopted by the Government is to admire
people who are very much committed to their obligation of serving the
nation, said Cultural Affairs and National Heritage Minister Pavithra
Wanniarachchi.
The Minister addressing a press briefing at the Archaeology
Department after launching the book The Decipher of Mirror Walls of
Sigiriya by Dr. Benil Priyanka said the time is ripe to show the world
our heritage.
"Our ministry is not that much known to publish books. Hence we
should support people attempting to convey the grandeur of our nation to
the world. That's why the Ministry is now instigating a process to
gather money to invest in such valuable projects. We have to support
projects which are essential to enhance the country's image within the
global spotlight," she said.
"We need people who have the ability to read the history," the
Minister said.
"I know there are a few and we have to get them to work. But without
having the ability to help them in monetary means we cannot inspire
them. That's why we are planning to create a fund." |
