Lorry crashes into lorry killing woman

A woman was killed and three others injured when a lorry crashed into a lorry parked in the Pulpallama area, Tissamaharama on Wednesday. Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody said a 35-year-old woman Ramesha Ranjini was killed and three others injured when a lorry crashed into another lorry which was parked along the Tissa- Katharagama Road.

"The victim and the injured were standing by road near the parked lorry when the mishap took place," he added.

He said the injured were admitted to the Deberawewa and Tissamaharama hospitals. The driver of the lorry was arrested. Tissamaharama Police is investigating.
