Govt refuses to answer question on KP
Says this will endanger national security:
The Government yesterday refused to answer several questions raised
by an Opposition MP regarding senior LTTE member Kumaran Padmanathan
alias KP on the grounds that revealing these details would put National
Security in jeopardy. information is sensitive in nature and will
compromise National Security if made public, Leader of the House,
Irrigation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told the House in reply to
questions raised by DNA MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Among the
questions, the MP raised were about the KP’s whereabouts if he to be
given special pardon or if he is going to be charged in Court.
Minister de Silva said investigations were still underway and details
would be revealed on a later day.
“National Security is of utmost importance,” he said.
