More Youth corps trainees pass out

Passing out parades of over 4,000 youths who received institutional training in 36 centers conducted under youth corps program by the Youth Affairs Ministry were held during July 14 to 19 in Youth Corps Headquarters.

The objective of the youth crops is to socialize school leavers as healthy and loyal citizens, Youth Crops Additional Director Kanishka Kularatne said. Trainees are provided opportunities to develop proficiency in English Language, Computer literacy, Health Education and Aesthetic studies with an allowance of Rs. 1,000 per month during the six months training period, he said.

After the training, they are employed in the fields of agriculture, livestock, motor mechanism and Air and Naval fields with a salary of Rs, 10,000 per month.
