Blue Water TTSC Softball Champs

The Blue Water, Wadduwa superbly led by versatile all rounder, K.D.K.S. Wijenayake bagged their very first Travel Trade title when they emerged champions at the 34th TTSC Men’s Softball “Sixes”, tourney sponsored for the 13th successive year by Aitken Spence Travels, which concluded at the Shalika grounds and D.S. Senanayake College grounds on Sunday.

Blue Water, finalists’ from DSS ground, who travelled to Shalika ground for the final, beat Club Palm Garden, Beruwala comfortably by five wickets with one full over to spare.

Amaya Reef Hotel, Kandy the 2009 runners-up went one step ahead when they lifted the Women’s title, beating former winners, Club Hotel Dolphin in the final.

In the Men’s segment, defending champion, Bentota Beach Hotel and runner-up, Lanka Princess fell by the way side, losing to Chaaya Village, Habarana and Club Bentota respectively.

In the women’s segment, defending champion, Aitken Spence Travels was dethroned by Club Hotel Dolphin, Waikkal in the semi-finals.
