Charity Units in all State hospitals

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena has decided to set up a `Hospital Charity Unit' in all State hospitals by next year.

The main objective of this arrangement is enabling well-wishers, individual donors and organizations to make financial and material contribution towards the development of State hospitals, a Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, Minister Sirisena took this decision after considering the requests by individuals and organizations to obtain opportunities to donate funds and equipment to develop State hospitals.

There is no proper channel to make contributions towards development of State hospitals.
