EDB must develop new strategies - Minister

The Export Development Board has to develop new strategies and surpass the 8 billion US dollar income generated last year by exports, Industry and Commerce Minster Rishard Bathiutheen told senior officials at a progress review meeting of the EDB recently.

The Minister also directed them to develop a detailed plan of action to ensure the growth of exports for the next three years. New strategies should be applied to enhance the productivity and quality of exports with the collaboration of the private sector. Special emphasis was focused on developing agro-based products, fruits and vegetable export zones, ministry media secretary told Daily News yesterday.
