HNB Metro in Negombo

Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) opened the bank’s 189th Customer
Centre in Negombo. This is the third HNB Customer Centre in Negombo. The
new HNB Negombo Metro customer centre is located at No. 201, Colombo
Road, Negombo. The Negombo Metro Customer Centre was opened by HNB
Managing Director/CEO
Rajendra Theagarajah. MP Dr Sudarshani Fernandopulle, Negombo Mayor
Herman Coorara, senior bank officials, Government officials, local
businessmen and customers were present at the opening.
HNB Managing Director /CEO Rajendra Theagarajah said that HNB
established the first Customer Centre in Negombo in 1973 and today after
37 years is opening the third customer centre in Negombo.

As one of the country’s oldest Chinese restaurants, Chinese Dragon
Café has delivered excellent cuisine and service Sri Lankans for over
half a century. The family owned restaurant opened its first branch down
Galle Road in 1942, and due to its rapid growth Chinese Dragon Café has
branched off in two other major locations in the Colombo Metropolitan
area. Two more outlets will be opened in the suburbs of the City Capital
with an aim to make excellent Chinese cuisine easily accessible around
the isle.
As a restaurant that has set the standard in Chinese food since 1942,
Chinese Dragon’s Rajagiriya Branch opening was much anticipated.
‘Chinese Dragon’s popularity as an all time favourite family
restaurant stems from the fact that we offer scrumptious Chinese cuisine
that caters to the local palate, at affordable prices,’ said a
spokesperson for the Chinese Dragon management.
The new branch is to be located on the Parliament Drive.
The new branch will also operate with a ‘best value’ policy, ideal
for those nights out with family and friends, featuring some of the
restaurant’s most popular dishes including Penang Beef Curry, Rendang
Chicken, Indonesian Prawns and Thai Prawn Curry. The branch will also
offer the restaurant’s best selling and most demanded dishes.
DIMO awards scholarships Sinahawa Scholarship Program

The Tyre Division of Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) recently
carried out a project where 100 school children were awarded with
financial assistance for their advanced level studies. Called the
Sinahawa (Smiles) Program, this program identified 100 students who had
completed the ordinary level exams from around the country. They were
selected based on their performance at ordinary level exams and their
cumulative household income levels. Each student will receive Rs 1,500
monthly for two years, until they complete their advanced level studies.
The scholarships were awarded at the DIMO head office, in the
presence of the DIMO top management recently. Ranjith Pandithage
addressing the students spoke about the importance of continuous
learning and DIMO giving more focus to sustainable activities such as
these. The students and their parents were given the opportunity to
experience a motivation session by Gihan Thalgodapitiya at the end of
the program.
As a responsible business organization, DIMO is continuously carrying
out projects that would proactively promote the public interest by
encouraging community growth and development. One approach is through
Creating Shared Value, or CSV. The shared value model is based on the
idea that corporate success and social welfare are interdependent. A

Nivasie and NDB Bank entered into a partnership to promote the
housing market in Sri Lanka.
The partnership will enable customers to purchase Victoria Range
Bungalows in Digana Kandy under concessionary rates, by obtaining a
special housing loan from NDB Bank.
ComBank ‘e-Exchange’ promo winners receive cash prizes

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently awarded cash prizes worth Rs
2.5 million to 100 lucky winners of the Bank’s ‘e-Exchange’ promotion.
The bank’s customers who received money from anywhere in the world
through the ‘e-Exchange’ service between March 15 and April 15 were
eligible to participate in this promotion. Each winner received a cash
prize of Rs 25,000.
Commercial Bank’s ‘e-Exchange’ service is a sophisticated yet low
cost real time on-line money transfer facility which is available to
remitters through a network of agents in over 50 countries.
SPEEDWATER launches SPEED KIDS

Speedwater systems (PVT) Ltd, has launched their newest product SPEED
KIDS for children from infancy to teenage.
SPEED KIDS was launched on June 29. Managing Director Nishantha
Delgoda said this water product is specially made with children in mind.

manufactured with 100 percent reveres osmosis purified water. |
