Market rebounds
The market rebound with renewed buying and the ASPI index gained 28
points (+0.6 percent) to close at 4534. The more liquid MPI gained 11
points (+0.2 percent) to close at 5106.
The share that saw the most business was John Keells Holdings with
the share gaining Rs 2.00 to close at Rs 205.00 on business of Rs 289
million.
Lanka Hospitals, which is majority owned by Sri Lanka Insurance, saw
its share price rise by Rs 13.50 to close at Rs 39.00. Lanka Hospitals
which owned the franchise for Apollo Hospitals of India till recently,
saw its share price rise to a day high of Rs 41.50.
Total turnover for the day was Rs 1.1 billion.
Other actively traded shares were Finlays Colombo, share down Rs
14.00 to Rs 176.00 on turnover of Rs 153 million and Hemas Power, up Rs
2.50 on turnover of Rs 44 million to end at Rs 23.25.
