Galle CC celebrates 127 years

The Galle Cricket Club which got on to its feet way back in 1883 under the presidency of R.H.Sinclair celebrate its 127th anniversary tomorrow. Galle CC has been a strong force in the field of cricket specially in the Southern Province and has done a yeoman service for sport.

At present under the able guidance of Gajaba Pitigala the Galle CC is taking great strides toward achieving greater heights in the future. He is ably assisted by the General Secretary Dr. Wenura K. Singaarachchi.

The Club has a membership of 839 plays in the Sara Trophy. Some of its cricketers Rodney Pradeep Kumara and Ranjith Priyan performed well during the past two years.

Hasitha Rajapaksa the coach does a fine job in keeping the players in topping condition.

The Officials of the Club are planning to construct well equipped gym for the benefit of the membership in the very near future.
