Youth brush strokes for peace


First place - ‘Proud of the world’ by Dulse Vimukthi Wettasinghe

An aesthetic festival Siv Maha Ganga organized by Tharunyata Hetak will be held tomorrow at the Youth Centre Theatre, Maharagama.


Second place- ‘Ethnic and religious harmony brings prosperity’ by Indika Pathmananda.

More than 400 paintings were received from all provinces of Sri Lanka including the North and East. There will be a paintings, photography and handicrafts exhibition. The exhibition is open to the public.

The speciality is MP Namal Rajapaksa has invited all bazaar (road) painters selling paintings in Colombo streets to make their bargains at the exhibition.

The winners of the paintings competition- Dulse Vimukthi Wettasinghe, Indika Pathmananda and Saroji Kumari Jayalath who had secured first, second and third places respectively will be awarded prizes on the day.


Third place - ‘Arts, crafts, self-sufficiency and ethnic harmony is the secret of prosperity’ by Saroja Kumari Jayalath.
