ANCL Aloka Pooja from today

Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka and North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake will inaugurate the Lake House Mihintale Aloka Pooja in Mihintale today.

The Lake House Aloka Pooja organized by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) for 48 years in succession is sponsored by the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Abans (Private) Limited. The Aloka Pooja is held under the patronage of Chief Incumbent of Mihintale Rajamaha Viharaya and Deputy Sanganayake of Nuwara Gam Palatha Ven. Namalwewe Dharmakirthi Sri Ratanasara Thera.

The Aloka Pooja will be inaugurated by Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne and Media Minister Kheliya Rambukwella tomorrow. ANCL Chairman Bandula Padmakumara and CEB Chairman Vidya Amarapala are expected to open it on June 26.

Anuradhapura District Secretary H.M. Herath will be chief guest.

The ANCL has been organizing this event since 1963. The company launched a number of projects for the people in the Mihintale area parallel to the Aloka Pooja throughout the last 48 years.
