Traffic arrangements

A special traffic program will be in operation from 5 am tomorrow in connection with the victory parade scheduled to be held in Galle Face Green.

Motorists coming along the Galle Road towards Colombo should turn to Bauddhaloka Mawatha at Bambalapitiya junction and follow the route along Tummulla roundabout, Thurstan Road, JOC junction, Cambridge Place, Horton roundabout, C. W. W. Kannangara Mawatha, Soysa roundabout, Town Hall, Deans Road, Maradana, Technical Junction, Olcott Mawatha to Pettah.

Motorists leaving Colombo to enter the Galle Road should use the route along Pettah, Ceynor junction, Gunasinghepura junction, Technical junction, Maradana bridge, Gamini roundabout, Darley Road, Ibbanwala junction, Lipton roundabout, Dharmapala Mawatha, F. R. Senanayake Mawatha, C. W. W. Kannangara Mawatha, Horton roundabout, Nanda Motors junction, Cinnamon Garden roundabout, Reid Avenue, Thummulla roundabout, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Bambalapitiya to Galle Road.

Vehicles will not be allowed to gain access to Fort area along the following routes from 5 am till the end of the function.

Towards Colombo from Bambalapitiya junction along the Galle Road; Towards Galle Face from Galle Road across Slave Island; Towards Galle Face Middle Road from Galle Face roundabout; Towards Justice Akbar Mawatha from Slave Island junction; Towards Kumaran Ratnam Road from Slave Island junction; Towards D. R. Wijewardene Mawatha from Gamini Hall roundabout; Towards Fort area from Olcott Mawatha, Ceynor junction and towards Fort area from Khan clock tower. The above roads will be closed till the function is over.
