Triplets and quadruplets:

Health Ministry assists four families

The Health Ministry provided a payment of Rs 50,000 and a nutrition package worth Rs 25,000 to four families with triplets and quadruplets yesterday.

The assistance was granted through the National Health Services Fund.

Addressing the families, Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena said the population is the greatest treasure of the country. Around 1,500 scientists work for NASA and 200 of them are Sri Lankans which indicates Sri Lankan human resources are very intelligent and talented. There are 1.5 million Sri Lankans working in foreign countries.

They have employments because some foreign countries do not have adequate human resources for themselves, the Minister said.
