PM launches Ranaviru Harasara Second Phase

Pan Asia Bank loan scheme for war heroes:

Pan Asia Bank has launched a special loan scheme called Ranaviru Harasara for the benefit of the heroic members of the Army, Navy and Air Force. This loan scheme is available not only for currently serving service personnel but also to the disabled war heroes as well as families of those who were killed or went missing in action during the war.

Ranaviru Harasara account scheme was originally launched as a special deposit scheme to cater to Sri Lanka's war heroes during the peak of the war in December 2008 under the auspices of the then Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ratnasiri Wickrmanayake.

Marking the second phase of this special account scheme, Ranaviru Harasara loan scheme was launched by the Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne at his office last week with the participation of Finance and Planning Deputy Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera. Pan Asia Bank Chairman A G Weerasinghe, Corporate Management team of Pan Asia bank, officials from the Defence Ministry, Seva Vanitha Unit Heads of three forces, "Ranaviru" Authority Chairperson and officials of the welfare directorates of three forces also attended this ceremony.

Ranaviru Harasara loan scheme is a versatile loan scheme that could be used for purposes such as purchasing a land, building or renovating a house, purchasing a motor bicycle or a three wheeler, start self employment, cover wedding expenses, purchase a computer, higher education or even children's education.

Ranaviru Harasara account holders are entitled to receive an additional 2.5 percent interest for their deposits and will be serviced by a dedicated officer at each Pan Asia branch. In addition, they also receive a free specially branded ATM card and a special savings pass book. Under the Ranaviru Harasara account scheme, children of account holders are also given special privileges such as special gifts including bicycles and computers based on their Ranaviru children's savings account balance.

Another unique feature of this account scheme is a hospitalization room charge expenses reimbursement facility of up to Rs.30,000 per year for a child.

Early in the 19th century it is likely that Sri Lanka's forest cover probably was as high as 90 percent and today it has declined by around 14 percent, Touchwood Investment PLC Agro Forestry Consultant Dammika G. Mahipala said at a field study trip organized by Touchwood Investment PLC simultaneously with the World Environment Day on June 5.

Seylan Bank has opened a banking unit in Killinochchi to meet the banking needs of the people of the area.

The Killinochchi branch was opened by Central Bank of Sri Lanka Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal on the invitation of Seylan Bank Chairman Eastman Narangoda last week.

The opening of the Seylan Bank Killinochchi branch will also help the development of the economic activities in the North specially in fast developing Killinochchi, thereby paving the way to find solutions and better access to the financial needs.

Killinochchi is the 94th branch of Seylan Bank and it is the second branch opened in the northern region after ending the 30-year-old conflict. Seylan Bank operates three other branches (Vavuniya, Jaffna and Nelliadi) two extension offices (Chankani, Manipay) in the region.

 

 

 


ABC Trade and Investments felicitates Central Province dealers

Director/CEO A. Jayaseelan. Authorized dealer certificates for both Verbatim and Print Rite products were also presented to the Central Province dealers. The best ABC Trade and Investments (Pvt) Ltd Central Province Sales Person was also recognized and the award went to G. Vinothan.


NDB Bank donates books to Jaffna Library
