PCH to expand BPO operations

PCH expects to expand its BPO operations in the SAARC region with
their diversification to BPO operations in Sri Lanka.

PCH Chairman S.H.M.Rishan said Company will be looking at SAARC
countries, specially Bangladesh to promote Business Process Outsourcing
(BPO) initiative.
The company has already ventured into BPO initiative in Jaffna and
hopes to create thousands of job opportunities in the area. This BPO
initiative is funded by the company.
Ranked among the top 50 global Outsourcing destinations by A T
Kearney and among the Top 20 Emerging Cities by Global Services
Magazine, Sri Lanka has now established itself as one of the worlds
premiere Business Process Outsourcing destinations.
With an extensive pool of educated and professionally qualified
workers and fast growing infrastructure, the local BPO market is set to
take the world by storm.
He said that accounting practices, document management and legal
advisory will be the main segments of the BPO initiative.
PCH hopes to increase its sales revenue by 30 percent at the end of
2010. The company achieved Rs 1 billion sales revenue for 2006.
Apart from that ,PCH recorded nearly Rs 3 billion sales revenue upto
March 31.
With the cessation of hostilities, massive development projects have
been undertaken in the country. PCH hopes to become the main catalyst in
the development process in the country. |
