Lanka, China to enhance ICT sector ties

Sri Lanka and China entered into a new agreement to enhance
co-operation in the information and communication sectors between both
countries recently. Posts and Telecommunication Minister Jeevan
Kumaratunga and Chinese Industry and Information Technology Deputy
Minister Xi Guo Hua signed the agreement at the Prime Minister’s office.
The main objective of the agreement is to implement novel measures
for the enhancement of communication and information technology sectors
between the two countries.
Other objectives of the Agreement include undertaking development
measures, implementing new policies on exchanging information,
implementing communication infrastructure facilities, training and human
resources development.
Apart from these, both parties expressed willingness to take measures
for the improvement of communication and information technology sectors
between the two countries.
