Venezuela: Venezuela condemned US interference in Latin
America, after reviewing some comments made by Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton in Colombia.
“Hillary Clinton attacked again the Venezuelan Government lashing out
in a Colombian media against the democracy and the dignity of the people
of Simon Bolivar”, says a press release issues by the Venezuelan Foreign
Ministry.
Venezuela condemns the arrogant and interventionist tone of the
Secretary of State when refering to freedom of expression in Venezuela,
Ecuador or any of the countries in our region, and rejects the United
States’ endeavour seeking to establish rules for the functioning of our
democracies, sa ys the release. The Foreign Ministry recalled the
efforts made by by Hugo Chavez to the rescue of natural resources and in
order to realize the people’s right to health, education and nutrition.
The Foreign Ministry also hilighted the value of independence of the
country.
It saysthat due to the Revolution, Venezuela has ceased to be a
colony and achieved the highest Human Development Index of its history
with pride and commitment .
Clinton is making a regional tour (Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and
Barbados), during which she expressed concern about the alleged
deterioration of human rights in Venezuela and criticized relations
