In 2009/2010:
DIMO turnover tops Rs10.5 b

DIMO has recorded a gross group turnover of Rs. 10.5 billion
according to the sustainability report 2009/2010, an increase of gross
turnover by fifteen per cent as against Rs. 9.1 billion recorded in
2008/2009.
Eradication of terrorism has opened doors for businesses to expand
and have sustainability.
This positive climate in the country also in the light of the world
coming out of recession, has stimulated businesses, DIMO Chairman and
CEO, Ranjith Pandithage told the Daily News Business. The momentum
gained in the second quarter of 2009 /2010 and accelerated during the
year, has enabled DIMO to have excellent fourth quarter, helping the
company to end the year with satisfactory results.
The Government's slashing of imports duty will enable DIMO to sell
passenger vehicles at lower prices, Director Suresh Gooneratne said.
While continuing with the auto business which is the company's core
business, the company will adopt a strategy to strengthen its
diversified businesses such as building management systems and fire
detection security, power engineering, medical engineering, storage and
material handling and fluid management.
In 2010/2011, DIMO will widen horizons of company's activities, he
said.
Sustainable entrepre- neurship has always been the core of DIMO's
corporate strategy, which has contributed towards enhancing the economy,
empowering society and preserving the environment.

office at No.412, Negombo Road, Peliyagoda in front of the Micro
factory.

Commercial Bank joins DIMO
The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently teamed up with Diesel and
Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) to offer leasing options for TATA
Commercial vehicles.

Under the agreement, DIMO will provide substantial discounts to
Commercial bank customers to lease TATA vehicles and the Bank will
provide competitive rental for leasing facilities. The vehicles covered
under this special scheme include TATA trucks and buses.
A special insurance cover through Commercial Insurance Brokers, an
associate of Commercial bank has also been introduced for customers who
lease vehicles through the Bank. This cover requires a low insurance
premium and policyholders will be eligible for accident cover worth Rs
1.5 million each.
