Indian Opposition Leader congratulates President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is on a three day official visit to India met Opposition Leader and BJP leader of the Indian Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj yesterday morning.

During the discussions the Indian Opposition Leader said she approved the Indian Government’s pledge to support Sri Lanka’s future National and Economic development effort said a press release issued by the President’s Media Division.

Sushma Swaraj who congratulated President Mahinda Rajapaksa for the convincing victory achieved at the recent Presidential elections also emphasised the need to further strengthen and cement the longstanding Indo-Sri Lanka friendship.
