Measures to solve Deeghawapi water problem

The Water Supply and Drainage Ministry will take swift measures to
solve the drinking water shortage at the Deeghawapi sacred city located
at Ampara, before next year, Water Supply and Drainage Minister Dinesh
Gunawardena said.
Minister Gunawardena was on an inspection tour of the Deeghawapi
sacred area. He said the 2600th Buddha Jayanthi will be commemorated
soon and promised to solve the water shortage problem.
Minister Gunawardena also took part in a tree planting ceremony held
at Konduwattuwan, Lake Front to mark World Environment Day. Mahanayake
of Deeghawapi Rajamaha Viharaya, Ven. Nannapurawe Buddarakitha Thera,
Digamadulla MP. Sriyani Wijewickrama and the Water Supply and Drainage
Board Chairman Karunasena Hettiarachchi were also present. |
