Woman electrocuted while hoisting antenna

A woman died on the spot after being electrocuted while hoisting a television antenna in her house in Dehiwela.

The woman had tried to pull the antenna bar which had fallen on the high tension power lines on the main road. The antenna had fallen on the power lines due to winds accompanying heavy rains.

Residents had informed the Ceylon Electricity Board soon after tragedy, but the power was disconnected only after one hour.
