Chandrika hoping to complete hat-trick of wins

The third and final leg of the Asian Grand Prix series track and field meet conducted by the Asian Athletic Association will be worked off at the Sri Javaharlal Stadium in Chennai today.

Sri Lanka’s Chandrika Subashini Ratnayake will be hoping to complete a hat-trick of victories having already bagged the first place in the women’s 400 metres event in Pune and Bangalore respectively.

In contrast Shehan Ambepitiya will be looking to bounce back after having failed to make an impact in the men’s 100 metres event during the second leg of the meet in Bangalore.

Ambepitiya came first in Pune with a timing of 10.47 seconds but had to settle with the fourth place during the second leg of the meet in Bangalore.

Sri Lanka’s third athlete competing in this meet Kasun Seneviratne also failed to make an impact while participating in the men’s 400 metres event. Chennai, Tuesday
