Victory Day celebrations on June 18

The State function to commemorate the victory over the LTTE terrorists that was to be held at Galle Face Green on May 20 and had to be postponed due to inclement weather will now be held on June 18 at the same venue, states Media Centre for National Security Director General Lakshman Hulugalle in a press release yesterday.

The colourful parade in honour of the heroes of the Armed Forces will be held at the Galle Face Green and there will be a special war heroes commemoration ceremony held at the Parliament Ground, Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte opposite the War Heroes Memorial.

Invitees are requested to note the change of date and be present with their invitations for the event, the press release said.
