Two escape from police cell

Two suspects reported missing from the custody of the Mawarala Police have escaped from the police cell where they were being held, investigations have revealed. The two suspects are residents of Deiyandara and Danhena.

Policemen who were on duty guarding the police cell will be interdicted and a special disciplinary inquiry held against them, said Matara ASP Gamini Jayalath.
