Night of colour at police bakthi gee

The annual Police Bakthi Gee was held at the Bambalapitiya Police Grounds Saturday in the presence of a large gathering including present and past senior and junior police personnel and their family members and the public. The Chief Guests were Inspector General of Police Mahinda Balasuriya and Police Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Asha Balasuriya. Several former IGPs and several retired senior police officers were among the gathering at the Bakthi Gee program.

Visaradha Victor Ratnayake, Visharadha Sunil Edirisinghe, Visharadha Amitha Wedisinghe, Ishak Beg and Dishna Atapattu of the Police Choral Group performed to tunes of the Police Band led by Band Master Inspector Sumith Liyanage. Assistant Band Masters Inspector Aruna Mudunkotuwa and Bernard Augustine and Sub Inspector Mahendra Jayasekera also participated. The Police Cultural Troupe performed several dance items directed by Police Cultural Troupe Director Superintendent of Police Karunarathna Bandara.

IGP Balasuriya thanked the singers, Police Band members and organisers.

Senior SP Neville Karunaratne was the chief organizer of the Police Vesak Bakthi Gee 2010 program.
