Sanjaya Gunawardena's muhurath ceremony of his latest teledrama,
Hiruta Pipena Sooriyakantha recently was held at the Punchi theatre. The
maker of popular productions like Amaya, Labai Apple, Vasanthaya Arang
Evith and Gajamutu had based his newest project on an incident which
takes place within a family.
Neville Sooriyabandara has two daughters: Anjali and Ridmi with
contrasting personalities. The younger daughter, Ridmi, has two suitors,
Praveen and Prabash. The latter was actually proposed to her sister
Anjali. When Ridmi learns that she is an adopted girl she changes her
attitude towards her family and begins an affair with Prabash.

She even tries to wreck her sister's marriage to an engineer named
Ramesh and tried to find her real mother. As Anjali's marriage draws
near Ridmi vanishes into thin air. Suspicion turns on Prabash who was in
the verge of marrying Nelum.
Sanjaya began his stint with acting in 1990 while schooling. He
became a journalist in 1995 via the tabloids Tharunaya and Cinesara. He
was also one of the students of the art society started by Tower Hall.
Hiruta Pipena Sooriyakantha is produced by Sampath Palitha de Saram.
Priyanka Amarathunga had penned the screen play while Chandana
Dharmapriya is the cameraman. Executive director is Sanjeevani
Weerasinghe.
Chaminda Ilukvela is the art director. Navaratne Gamage is the music
director of the teledrama which includes a song penned by Bandula
Nanayakkaravasam. Uresha Ravihari provides the background vocals.
Dhanushka Dushmantha Basnayake is the assistant director and Thilak
Rathnayake is the make up artist. Saman Samarawickrama is the editor. |
