Step-motherly treatment for NCP health services

“The Central Government allocated Rs 350 million in 2005 for the
Provincial Health Services whereas it has been Rs 65 million for 2010,”
said North Central Provincial Health Minister Deshala Jayaratne.
He was addressing the health service employees in NCP at a ceremony
for felicitating Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena. The meeting was
held at the Anuradhapura Nurses Training College Auditorium recently. He
said during the past two years even a discussion, couldn’t be arranged
with a line Ministry, for appraising the Ministerial level authorities
about the health sector problems which required immediate solutions.
“At Tambuttegama General Hospital only five doctors are working. If
you visit a rural hospital in Gampaha District. you will find 10 to 15
doctors serving at such hospitals. |
