Rajans maintain its hockey supremacy

Dharmaraja College, Kandy, maintained their supremacy at hockey when they won the junior hockey title for the fifth successive year when they defeated their traditional rivals Kingswood College by a comfortable margin of 3 - 0 in the under 13 boys hockey final in the tournament conducted by the Kandy District Schools Hockey Association and played at the University ground, Peradeniya.

Rajans skipper Ramil Dharmaratne was in good form slamming two goals while the third one was scored by Fasan Ranaweera.

S. Senthil Kumar and D. J. Ranatunga umpired.

In the semi final Dharmaraja College beat Menikdiwela Central College 3-0 with Ramil Dharmaratne, Prabash Rajapakse and Pashan Ranaweera scoring a goal each.

In the second semi final Kingswood College defeated Sri Sumangala College 4 - 1 after leading 1 -0 at the breather.

Sounding the boards for the winners were T. V. Bandara (2), Rumesh Kanchana (1), S. H. B. Ratnayake (1), Menikdiwela Central's goal was a gift when one of Kingswood defenders scooped the ball which Kingswood's custodian failed to stop.
