Ruhuna were struggling at 86 for 5 in reply to Basnahira South's mammoth first innings total of 720 runs on the second day of their Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial 4 day cricket tournament match which continued at the Colts CC ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

Kandurata fight back

Kandurata were well placed to take a first innings lead as they reached an impressive 207 for 3 in reply to Wayamba's first innings total of 258 runs on the second day of their Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial 4 day cricket tournament match which continued at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy yesterday.

Peterites in record win

St. Peter's College cruised to a record 164 points to nil victory over Prince of Wales College Moratuwa in their Singer inter school under 20 division one league rugby tournament match worked off at Havelock Park yesterday.

The Peterites collected their points from 17 goals and nine tries after having led 80 nil at half time.

Dynamic centre three quarter Dhanushka Ranjan led the way with eight tries while winger Sandun Herath planted six tries for the winners. (C.D)


Thomians take on Patana today

The unbeaten S. Thomas' team will face an acid test when they take on Isipatana College in a crucial Singer inter school under 20 Division one league rugby tournament match at Mount Lavinia today.

The Thomians have already got off to a flying start having recorded back to back victories against Wesley College and St. Anthony's College Kandy respectively.

In contrast Isipatana are searching for their first win following shock defeats at the hands of St. Peter's and Kingswood College Kandy.


Bernardus in charge of CCC

Veteran coach Carlton Bernardus will be in charge of the CCC team during the upcoming inter club under 23 and Premier League cricket tournaments.
