Gayan hero for Sastrananda Vidyalaya
The first Limited Over cricket encounter between St Anthony's
College, Panadura and Sastrananda Vidyalaya was held at the De Zoysa
stadium recently. The game ended with Sastrananda Vidyalaya recording an
easy four wicket win.

The highlight of the match was the century scored by Gayan Sandaruwan
(111) which included five sixes and nine boundaries.
Gayan's achievement also brought him the Best Batsman's and Man of
the Match awards too. Gayan also was the highest run getter in their two
day game against De La Salle College during the season.
Channa Kasun made a brilliant knock for the victorious team scoring
70 runs.
St Anthony's batting first made a fine score of 246 in their allotted
50 overs with Mohamed Zilmy (69), and Rohan Suresh (63) doing bulk of
the scoring.
Chasing this huge total it was Gayan and Channa who made a fine
foundation for their team building a 156 partnership for the third
wicket. This alliance helped Sastrananda Vidyalaya to snatch a good
victory in this first Limited over game.
All major awards too were won by the Sastrananda Vidyalaya
cricketers.
