Mervyn resigns, says happy to help journalists

Mervyn Silva, MP resigned from the post of Deputy Media Minister yesterday.

He submitted his resignation letter to President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Disclosing his resignation at a media briefing at the Media Ministry yesterday, he said: “During this short period, I was able to maintain a friendly relationship with all journalists.

It is hard to resign from the post of Deputy Media Minister as I became close to journalists.”

He said he will never forget journalists.

“I will be happy to help at any time whenever journalists have problems,” he said.
