Russia, Belgium talk Euro-Atlantic security
Russia: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Belgian
counterpart Steven Vanackere discussed Tuesday a proposal for
Euro-Atlantic security, bilateral cooperation and signing of a joint
action plan.
Lavrov pointed out the need to review and take into account the
declarations of principles made in Europe in the late twentieth century
about the need for an indivisible security in the area to draft the said
initiative. During the meeting the fifth joint action plan for 2010-2011
was signed and both parties noted the development of the bilateral
dialogue under the UN, the European Union and the Organization for
Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Both Lavrov and Vanackere also referred to the Russian-EU summit, to
be held on May 31-June 1 in Rostov. Belgium, the home to the
headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), will
chair the community body. Prensa Latina
