World Intellectual Property Day :
US Embassy, Colombo University hold panel discussion
In observance of World Intellectual Property Day, April 26, the U.S.
Embassy in cooperation with the Law Faculty of the Colombo University
organized a panel discussion on Intellectual Property Rights.
Nearly 100 attorneys, faculty, and students attended. The panelists
included some of Sri Lankas leading experts in this field: National
Intellectual Property Office Director General Dr. D. M. Karunaratne,
Colombo University Law Faculty Dean N. Selvakumaran and President's
Counsel Dinal Philips. Presidents Counsel attorney Soundarie
David-Rodrigo, introduced the topic and moderated the
question-and-answer session.
The theme of the discussion was Innovation Linking the World.
U.S. Embassy Cultural Affairs Officer Glen Davis welcomed the
audience and read a statement from U.S. Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton.
U.S. Embassy, AmCham organize seminar
The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), in collaboration with the
U.S. Embassy in Colombo, is organizing a seminar on the new procedures
for applying for a visa to the United States.
The event will take place on May, 11, from 9:30am-11:30am at the
Colombo Hilton.
The seminar aims to provide a better understanding of U.S. visa
procedures. |
