Raigam Wayamba Salterns closes at Rs 4.20
Raigam Wayamba Salterns (RWSL.N0000), which concluded a successful
IPO to raise Rs 200 million through an 80 million share issue at Rs 2.50
per share, commenced trading on Thursday at Rs 4.70.
The share which reached a high of Rs 5.25 finally closed the day at
Rs 4.20.
The day saw 52 million shares change hands generating Rs 242 million
in business.
With RWSL’s entry to the market, the number of listed companies is
now 233 and the RWSL added another Rs 1.2 billion to the market
capitalisation of the CSE. Total market cap of the CSE now stands at Rs
1,352 billion. The Saltern joins the beverage, food and tobacco sector
of the Exchange on the Diri Savi board taking the number of the sector
to 20.
The day saw small and mid caps dominate trading with the ASPI up 21
points (0.5 percent) to close at 4,155, while the MPI closed flat at
4,695.
Turnover for the day was Rs 2 billion with Overseas Realty accounting
for Rs 389 million in business.
The share gained 75 cents to close at Rs 17.50, while John Keells
Holdings closed unchanged at Rs 185.00 on turnover of Rs 296 million.
