Sri Lanka Navy rescued a crew
member of the multiday fishing trawler Vishak Putha who was
suffering from a chest pain on Thursday at deep sea in a
location 110 km away from the Southern coast. The trawler
had left the Nilawella fishing harbour on April 25 for deep
sea fishing. A fast Naval Craft was dispatched immediately
in response to a request made by the owner of Vishak Putha
for Naval assistance, and the patient was transferred safely
to the Galle harbour. He was provided with first aid onboard
to facilitate him with further medical treatment.
Defence Secy visits Jaffna, Nagadeepa
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday
visited Jaffna and Nagadeepa. He was received by Jaffna Security
Forces Commander Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe at the Palaly
Airport.
