SAARC leaders to meet Bhutan's King today

The SAARC Heads of State will meet Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck at the Royal Palace today.

Later the SAARC leaders would attend an event in which a special Bhutanese flag called Lha-Dhar would be hoisted to mark its triumph over hostile forces.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa too would participate in these events.

In addition, Saplings would be planted with the participation of all SAARC leaders to mark the Sixteenth Summit in Bhutan today.

President Rajapaksa and the Sri Lankan delegation would also visit an exhibition where works of art representing all SAARC nations would be on display. This has been organized by the SAARC Business Forum.

Later the President would participate in the closing sessions of SAARC Heads of State Summit. The Bhutanese Prime Minister would receive President Rajapaksa on the occasion.

The President and the Sri Lankan delegation later would join rest of the delegates from other SAARC nations at a dinner hosted by Bhutanese Prime Minister.
