Programs to mark Ayurveda Year

The Colombo District ‘Ayurveda Physicians’ Co-operative Society to
mark Ayurveda Year 2010 conducts a series of religious programs, medical
clinics and Ayurveda counselling program in temples in the Colombo
district.
These programs will be held on fullmoon poya days.
Such programs will be held on April 28 poya day at Sri Sudarmaramaya,
Ambalangoda, Piliyandala, Sri Nalandaramaya, Pathiragoda, Maharagama,
Wiswakala Buddhist Centre, Piliyandala and Sri Sudarmaramaya,
Wewelpanawa Padukka.
A special lecture will be delivered by a Ayurvedic Physician on
medical counselling and Buddhism. A medical counselling will also be
followed.
“Apart from the medical counselling, distribution of Ayurveda first
aid medicines, and a hand book on Ayurveda first aid system and medical
herbs distribution, will take place at the conclusion of the program.

The elephant transit home, Athuru Sevana at Udawalawa needs milk
foods to feed the baby elephants who have been taken to the elephant
transit home after being stranded in the wilds.
These abandoned and orphaned baby elephants should be fed with milk
till they develop their trunks and are ready to return to the wilds.
The aim of the elephant transit home is to rescue the stranded baby
elephants, tagged and specially sented with a cocktail of their own DUNG
to remove traces of human odour that will be repulsive to wild
elephants.

Town, South Africa), will deliver a talk on "Path to a Happy Family" on
April 28, at 10.30 a.m. at Nimal Road, Jummah Masjid, Bambalapitiya. |
