Total investment US $ 20 million:

BOI signs eight new agreements

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) granted investment approval for eight ventures to commence operations under the BOI. Chairman / Director General Dhammika Perera signed the agreement on behalf of the BOI and presented the BOI Certificates of Registration to the investors. The new ventures will invest US $ 20 million and will create 500 employment opportunities.

Nilwala Vidulibala Company signed the agreement for a venture to establish a mini hydro plant at Morawaka. The venture is an investment of over US $ 3.28 million. An investment agreement for a venture to establish a 25 room hotel in Vavuniya was signed with Thampa Tourist Hotel and Inn. The venture is an investment of US $ 500,000.

Stafford Hotels signed an agreement for an investment project to refurbish and upgrade Club Dolphin at Waikkala. The venture is an investment of over US $ 4.4 million.

Bogo Power signed an investment agreement to set up a 4,000 kw mini hydro power plant. The power plant located at Kirkoswald Estate, Norwood is an investment of over US $ 5.5. million.

An investment agreement for over US $ 500,000 was signed with Hambantota Trading Company. The company will set up an export trading house in the Koggala Export Processing Zone.

Aitken Spence Hotels signed an agreement for an investment project to refurbish and upgrade Neptune Hotel at Beruwala. The venture is an investment of over US $ 4 million.

An investment agreement for over US $ 1.5 million was signed with Jugas Agro Dairies. The company will set up a project to process milk for the local market in Chenkalady.

The project carried out under Accelerated Development Program for Eastern Province is for an investment of US $ 1.5 million.

B F P Enterprises signed the agreement to establish a project to process banana fibre into value added products for export.

The venture is an investment of over US $ 500,000. The project carried out under Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 Enterprise Programme will be established in Hambantota.
