Weerasekera elected

The newly elected President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka Sarath Weerasekera scored a winning goal when he was elected to the Parliament at the recently concluded General Elections from the Digamadulla District.

Weerasekera who entered the fray for the first time has won the hearts of all to top the preferential votes from the district.

Former Rear Admiral Weerasekera's victory will be of immense help to strengthen the Government under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and also the game of Football in Sri Lanka. The Football Family in Sri Lanka sends its congratulations to Weerasekera.
