Peoples trust in Government:

Victory speaks volumes

The overwhelming mandate given by the people at the General Election is a fitting reply to the international backers of the LTTE who though militarily defeated was ideologically still kept alive abroad, former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella

“The result of this election speaks volumes for the trust reposed in the Government by the public and is a good lesson to those international conspirators,” the former Minister said. He said steps will be taken to make it clear to the international community that the overwhelming majority of the people are firmly with the Government. The Minister was addressing a press conference at his residence in Bahirawakanda. He said through this mandate the Government will take forward its plans to make Sri Lanka the wonder of Asia and when this happens he assured that the central hills will play pivotal role.

The former Minister also said that the election results show that the UNP had plunged into rock bottom and that Ranil Wickremesinghe is gradually taking the party for burial.
