Akkaraipattu greets Athaulla with religious ceremonies

Minister A.L.M. Athaulla who won in the Digamadulla District obtaining the second highest preferential votes in the District among the UPFA candidates was accorded a warm reception by the people of Akkaraipattu, the home town of Minister Athaullah when he visited the area after his overwhelming victory at the General Election on Saturday.

Although processions were not organized by the people on Minister's request religious observances were given pride of places in the celebration of his victory.

Minister Athaullah visited Akkaraipattu Town Jummah Mosque, Jummah Grand Mosque and Jummah new Mosque and participated in special 'Thuwa' ceremony conducted by the Chief-Imams of the Mosques.

Earlier on his way from Ampara he also paid visits to Irakkamam, Varipathan Chenenai Mosques and thereafter Padiyadippitty, Pallikkudieruppu and Badurnagar Mosques and participated in religious observances.

Speaking to the people gathered at the Mosques Minister Athaullah thanked his voters who worked tirelessly for his victory and he appealed to them to extend their fullest support to continue his projects without any hindrance.
