Jackson never aspired political office

In Friday's April 9 Daily News on page 4 under the headline 'Some of the new faces in Parliament' we had mentioned the name of popular artiste and media personality Jackson Anthony as being a possible MP from the UPFA National List to Parliament.

We are informed by Jackson Anthony that at no time did he lend his name to be included in the National List nor did he ever aspire to be an MP or a politician for that matter. The famed film director says he could render a better service do the public as he is without the trappings of political office. We regret the error and any pain of mind caused to Jackson Anthony.
