In an effort to train the hotel personnel on the Meetings Industry,
SLCB has continued the program since last year and the first program for
this year was conducted on March 3 at Blue Water's at Wadduwa in
collaboration with Kalutara Hotel's Association.
CEO D.K.R. Dharamapala sharing his experience with the hoteliers
at the workshop. |
Over 30 participats attended this full day workshop provided to them
by SLCB fully expense covered.
The Speakers comprised Upula Gamage, Felicia Adihetti, D.K.R
Dharmapala and SLCB's Senior Manager Achini Dandunnage.
'In our opinion, most of the hotel personnel in outstations do not
get opportunities for such training programs.
There fore it is our obligation to go to them and provide the
training on the Meetings industry which requires a different approach
and strategy.
We do not burden them with financial contribution and we cover the
cost from the money received from TDF' SLCB General Manager, Vipula
Wanigasekera said.
Training to improve service standards is an integral part of our
efforts to reach long term goals hence the continuation of this program
which began since last year.
"We invite industry experts to offer their service to join the panel
of lecturers to impart their practical knowledge in this national effort
as we cannot tax the same speakers all the time due to their busy
schedule.
This is our appeal to the industry for the benefit of outstation
hotel personnel', Wanigasekera said. |
