People have spurned politics of malice - President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said he will usher an era for youth to gain employment according to their qualifications and skills without having to go behind politicians for jobs. The President gave this assurance when he addressed UPFA activists including SLFPers at Piliyandala-Kesbewa on Sunday.

The President said the recent Presidential Election proved that the people spurned politics of malice.

The people had given a fitting answer to falsehood and mud slinging at that election. President Rajapaksa said the Government had continued the country’s development program without interruption and he hoped to accelerate it further in the near future to cover the whole country without resorting to piecemeal development programs.

Ministers Bandula Gunawardena and Gamini Lokuge also participated.
