Wadduwa Central win

Fine bowling by Wadduwa Central's Sugish Yasas Sri (3 for 18), Sachith Anjana (2 for 23) and Yomal De Silva (2 for 28) helped them to six wickets victory in their under 13 Cricket match played at Wadduwa Central College ground recently.

Kirillawala Central College batted first and scored 118. In reply, Wadduwa Central chased the target, losing four wickets.

Kirillawala Central: 118 in 30 overs (S. Nadeeshan 30, A. Madusanka 19, Sugish Yasas Sri 3 for 18, Sachith Anjana 2 for 23, Yomal De Silva 2 for 28)

Wadduwa Central: 119 for 4 in 24.3 overs (Chamath Kure 43, Sadun Lakmal 35, Shehan Weerarathne 19, Amod Thisera 2 for 22). AW


Murali-Vaas trophy

The St. Joseph's-St. Anthony's Kandy inter-school match will be played at Darley Road today and tomorrow.

It is the 98th encounter for the Murali-Vaas trophy.

This trophy was inaugurated in 2007. St. Joseph's won it in 2008 under Ruwantha Fernandopulle.

Last SACK victory was in 1991 under Nuwan Kalpage.

Joes lead the series 40 wins to Antonians 8. The series started in 1899.


Softball cricket

The six-a-side softball cricket tournament organized by the "BATCH 96" of Ananda College, Colombo, will be conducted at the Racecourse grounds on February 21. All the Anandians and Old Anandians are invited to join in this event in sharing the tournament thrills and fun.

The tournament is organized by "BATCH 96" the which is a not for profit but founded to address the needs of the School Volleyball team.

Musaeusmeet

The Musaeus College Athletic Meet will be held today at Reid Avenue Grounds from 12.30 p.m. onwards.

Deshabandu Julian Bolling will be the Chief Guest.


Davis Cup

Pre Qualifying of Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and world juniors Tennis Championship, Asian Oceania 2010 will be held from February 22 to 26, 2010 at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts, Colombo 7.


Nations Trust Golf

Built on the remarkable success of the previous years tournament, the Annual Nations Trust American Express Golf Extravaganza will be conducted on a Stableford Format on February 20 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

This event which will be hosted by Nations Trust Bank and American Express Cards and would give customers a day out on the green for a challenging game of Golf.
