Beware of Gold sale scams
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has learnt that there are scams that
are being perpetrated by some unscrupulous persons who claim that they
have been authorized to sell gold belonging to the Central Bank. On that
basis, various offers have allegedly been made by such persons to the
public. Steps will be taken by authorities to trace, identify and take
legal steps to deal with offenders.
In the meantime, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka once again cautione
that they must not be duped by these unscrupulous claims, since the
Central Bank is not selling any gold to the public nor has the Central
Bank appointed any agents to sell gold on its behalf.
