TAASL, IIAT partnership
The Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL), an affiliate of
the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, and the Institute of International Air
Transport (IIAT), entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to
certify aspirant youth on fares and ticketing.

IIAT is an IATA Accredited Training Institute that offers airline
related diplomas, committed to skill its graduates and to assist them
secure employment on a best effort basis, said Managing Director of the
Institute of International Air Transport (IIAT) Ranjeewa Kulatunga.
The stated MOU will facilitate the trainees to secure on-the-job
training with a TAASL member organisation and the successful candidates
will be given priority to fill vacant slots within the TAASL member
companies, said V. Mahathevan the incumbent President of TAASL.
The MOU signing ceremony was held at IIAT's group headquarters.
The training is scheduled to commence in March and will be
facilitated by a much respected coach, an industry veteran with a wealth
of ticket office management experience in a reputed airline.
The module will not only impart the basics but will encapsulate
valuable soft skills that are required of an airline professional said
Kulatunga, who was the former Manager HRD and Training and the former
Head of the International Aviation Academy (IAA) at Sri Lankan Airlines. |
