It was 18 years old Geethika Manukulasooriya, a student of Mahinda
College, Galle who won the plaudits as the best writer at this event.
“It is a difficult task to write what is in your mind. I feel there’s
a theory you should feel if you are to write. I cannot define the theory
that I have mentioned. I call it a feeling,” said this little boy who
excelled with his pen.
“At the workshop we were given with the guide lines on how to write.
It was a very successful program. We have ideas but it is no easy task
to reflect the same thing in your mind when it comes to writing. I feel
we were taught the device how to turn our ideas into words through this
program.
As a child I have already read so many novels written on child
adventure. I wanted to add a different flavor to my story and give the
section of adventure stories a new life,” Geethika said.
Still in grade eight it seems he is not childlike in his thoughts. No
doubt this aspect of him speaks volumes of what is within him.
An exceptional line of thought.
According to the sources of his school Geethika is a bright student
of Mahinda College. His teachers are looking forward to see this unique
character score more and more credits to his alma mater in the time to
come. |
