Galle celebrates polls triumph

Jubilant voters of Galle celebrated the election triumph of President Mahinda Rajapaksa with enthusiasm at numerous locations through out the city over the past few days.

A large gathering last Monday rejoiced the President’s victory at a special ceremony organized by Galle Mayor Methsiri de Silva opposite the Galle Central Bus Stand.

They enjoyed the occasion sharing kiribath and other delicacies with people who gathered in the town.

Galle Sri Lanka Freedom Lawyers’ Association also organized a separate ceremony to hail the President’s victory at the open stage premises adjoining the Galle court complex where lawyers accorded a treat to their clients with Kiribath and various sweetmeats. Southern Provincial Council Chairman Mohan P De Silva also participated. Galle Lawyers’ Association Chairman Lalith U. Gamage delivered a special lecture.
